Homeless Man Takes His Own Life in Chiswick

A man who had been sleeping rough for at least two weeks has taken his own life in Chiswick.
His death was reported on Thursday 19 November. Earlier in the month he had been seen sleeping rough in the Kingston area where he was registered with a Church based homeless support charity.
Councillor Emily Davey, portfolio holder for Housing and Public Health at Kingston Council said, “I am sad to say that we have received a report of the death of another rough sleeper. Contact was made with a man by SPEAR in early November 2020 when he was first seen sleeping rough and registered with Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness at the same time. He had been seen during recent outreach visits and had been in regular contact with our homelessness charities.”
SPEAR is a Twickenham based charity that works with the homeless.
The No Second Night Out (NSNO) project is currently running throughout London and is committed to trying to ensure that nobody arriving on the streets will sleep out for a second night. Its focus is on those who are experiencing homelessness for the first time.
Hounslow Council offers a range of advice for people who may be at risk of becoming homeless or are concerned for the welfare of a homeless person.
