Hounslow Council’s lead member for Education,
Cllr Colin Ellar, heaped praise on the Headteacher
of The William
Hogarth School during his recent visit.
The visit is one of the key engagements of
Councillor Ellar’s whistlestop tour of the
borough’s schools.
The
William Hogarth School holds additional significance
because it is the borough’s newest school,
opening on the site of the Hogarth School,
which closed on October 29 2001.
Following
the visit Cllr Ellar said, “The William Hogarth
School is a good example of what can be achieved
with hard work and dedication. The problems
that the Hogarth school had have been overcome
and the William Hogarth School now has the
opportunity to attain the high standard of
other schools in the area. It is obvious to
me that praise should be directed to Cathy
Driscoll her staff and parents for the hard
work that they have put in, making the school
a success. I’m sure that the school will grow
into one of the best in the borough.”
Cathy
Driscoll, Headteacher of The William Hogarth
School, said, ”there is a need for a good community
school on this site. With the continuing good
support of the LEA and the local community
I am sure that we can make this happen. I was
very pleased that the Councillor agreed and
showed his commitment to the school.”
Since
The William Hogarth School opened on 29 October
2001 it has been a one-form entry school for
Key Stage one pupils. The school has a full
reception class for September 2002 and will
increase by one year every September until
it is a full Primary School.
