Chiswick based brewer, Fuller, Smith and Turner have announced profits of nearly £20 million for the latest six month period.

On sales up by 10% up to the end of September they saw profits before tax up by 8% and earnings per share rising by 12%

Like for like sales growth in their pubs and hotels was 6.5% which was boosted by new openings such as London Pride in Heathrow Terminal 2.

In the coming months they say that there is a 'good pipeline' of new openings which includes nearby One Over the Ait by Kew Bridge which starts serving customers today (21st November).

Fuller's experienced a public relations backlash with Brentfordians angry that the new pub was described as being in Kew on its web site when it has a TW8 post code. The address details have since been updated to show that it is in Brentford. They say that two new riverside pub openings are planned.

Commenting on the results, Simon Emeny, Chief Executive of Fuller’s, said: “Our business has a clear vision and long term strategy focusing on recruiting and developing the best people, enhancing our premium drinks portfolio, continuous investment in our estate and developing our range of freshly made seasonal dishes. The result of this strategy is another significant increase in sales and profit.

“We have seen a positive start to the second half. The Company is in robust health and we face the future with optimism and confidence.”
