Another Shop Break In By Thieves On Moped

Ceramic tile shop the latest local target in smash and grab raid

A local ceramics and tile shop is the latest victim of local raids by thieves on mopeds.

Hugo Ceramicas on Chiswick High Road (formerly Century 21 estate agents) was raided last weekend.

The incident took place on Saturday at around 1 am when two men on a moped smashed through the glass front window. They then rushed inside and smashed through a wooden door leading to the office.

They grabbed an Apple IMAC computer and then escaped with it on the moped, the raid taking only a couple of minutes from start to finish. Police are investigating and viewing CCTV footage of the incident.

The stylish ceramic and porcelain tile showroom opened its Chiswick retail outlet last September. Hugo Ceramicas is the exclusive UK agent for Yurtbay Seramik, the Turkish tile manufacturer.

None of the shop's stock was taken or damaged and the raiders appeared to know exactly what they were looking for.

The incident is the latest in a spate of break-ins at shops in Chiswick in the last few weeks.
