Watch which was taken when he was exercising at a local gym
Two local police officers have helped reunite a local resident with a valuable watch of sentimental value, which had been sold off by criminals. Their work may have uncovered vital information of an organised crime involved in a spate of similar thefts.
The police said that whilst exercising at a prestigious riverside gym the local man had his £5000 Rolex watch stolen from his locker. Following enquiries by PCs Sumner and Tipper of Chiswick Homefields ward, the watch was found to have been taken into Rolex for a service. It was arranged that Rolex would hold the watch until investigations had been concluded. The individual who took the watch to Rolex was identified and visited by PCs Sumner and Tipper to find out how he had acquired the watch. It had been bought in good faith in Hatton Garden and the jeweller refunded the buyer. Further enquiries with the jeweller led to significant
intelligence being gained on a possible organised crime group involved
in these types of thefts across London. December 7, 2017 |
