Helicopter sent to scene in early hours of Christmas morning
A man has been arrested in Chiswick after threatening London Ambulance staff with a knife. The incident in the Mayfield Avenue area which occurred at a round 1.20am on Christmas morning drew a heavy police response. The paramedics retreated from the man when threatened and then officers from Hammersmith and Fulham made the arrest. A helicopter from the National Police Air Service was in attendance. They were assisted by units from Hounslow Borough response team and the pan-London Met Task Force. The man was arrested on suspicion of affray. He was taken to a west London hospital from which he was subsequently discharged and is now in custody at a west London police station. December 25, 2016
