Police are appealing for any witnesses to last weeks double stabbing in which two people, a man and a woman, were injured during rush-hour, close to Chiswick High Road.

The two victims, who were aged in their thirties, suffered stab wounds during the attack which took place on Kirton Close, which is off Dolman Road, at around 6.15pm. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

The area is close to the Fisher's Lane surgery.

Police believe that the victims knew their attacker and are continuing to search for him. They have appealed for witnesses to contact the Community Safety Unit at Hounslow on 020 8247 6269.

One eye witness who posted on our forum described hearing a woman shout 'Stop! Stop!' at the time as she herself was coming out of a shop. She then saw a woman who was bleeding from the back of her neck, talking to police officers who were parked at the traffic lights near The Lamb.

"I heard her say that someone had just come up behind her and stabbed her."

Police officers then went off to try to track down the assailant while one officer administered first-aid while waiting for the Ambulance.

The eye witness said that the stabbed woman was very distraught and in shock.

Contrary to earlier reports, the woman who was stabbed is not pregnant.

Another eyewitness on our forum said that the attacker had walked by where he was parked in his car, and had the knife in clear view. "I watched him go off towards Sainsbury's and throw the knife over a wall and I reported it to the police officers."

An air ambulance landed on Turnham Green to attend to one of the victims.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance said: "We were called at 6.15pm on 5 September to reports of a stabbing in Fishers Lane, Chiswick.

"We sent a number of resources, including an incident response officer, two ambulances and London's Air Ambulance. The first of our medics was on scene in under three minutes.

"We treated two patients at the scene and took them as a priority to hospital."

A police spokesman said today that the investigation was continuing.

It is believed that all parties are known to each other and police are seeking one individual in relation to the incident. A knife recovered near the scene which they believe was connected to the incident is being forensically examined.
