Land Rover and Boat Stolen from Grove Park |
Police believe they may still be area so residents asked to keep an eye out The owners of a Land Rover Discovery and a sailing dinghy stolen from outside their home in Grove Park this week are appealing to local residents for help in getting it back. Although often vehicles like this are quickly shipped out of the country, the police have told the owners that sometimes they leave them in the local area for a short period before moving them on. The Discovery 4 registration BN63NFO in grey was stolen on Monday evening / Tuesday morning from outside a house on Compton Crescent. The car is charcoal grey in colour, and is the HSE model. It has privacy windows on the rear and alloy wheels. It has a black leather interior and three children's seats in the rear. It would be particularly distinctive as, at the time of the theft, it had a Laser sailing dinghy was strapped to the roof. The dinghy has a red hull and a white deck and is in excellent condition for its age. It was given to its owner Tom French as an 18th birthday present and has a huge sentimental value to him. He has recently started to use it to teach his children to sail. The boat also had its galvanised trolley attached to it again on the roof. It is possible that, even if the car has been taken from the area, the boat may have been dumped nearby. A ‘significant’ reward is offered for their return. Tom said, “Hopefully this wonderful community can help find both the car and boat.” If you spot either the car or the boat email Tom on tomfrenchlondon@gmail.com. August 25, 2016
