Police arrest driver after incident in early hours
A man was arrested after an incident in which a car ploughed into a lamp-post and smashed into a door of an estate agent on Chiswick High Road early today ( Jan 29). The white Mini car hit a door at Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward at the junction with Devonshire Road around 1.30 a.m. having first mounted a ramp and demolished a lamp post. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Local people described hearing a loud noise from the horn of the car and said there were several emergency vehicles at the scene. The manager of KFH, Paul Cooney said the first he knew of the incident was when he arrived for work and noticed that a glass fire exit door had been smashed. "At first I thought someone had broken in during the night but then the police arrived and told us what had happened. "It wasn't our main entrance and it didn't affect our property display windows. If it had been a bigger car, the damage might have been worse." Two units of the fire brigade and an ambulance also attended the scene. January 29, 2014 |
