Police are warning residents to be aware of security as well as comfort during this warm spell.

"Ensure windows and doors are securely fastened when leaving the property.

"Ground floor windows should be securely fastened when retiring for the night.

"Do not leave valuable small items including keys in view of windows or letter boxes."
