Police discover men hiding on roof of Prebend Gardens house
Police were called to an address in Prebend Gardens early hours of Tuesday 16th March where they discovered a burglary in progress. Commenting on the use of helicopters so early in the morning, Sgt Ben Clarke told ChiswickW4.com, "Three suspects tried to hide on the roof to escape detection and as a result the police helicopter was called out. "The use of the helicopter resulted in all three being arrested at the scene and they are currently in custody at Hounslow Police Station." He added, "Whilst I appreciate that the use of the police helicopter can cause a disturbance and can be a nuisance, it is never called out at that time of the night without good reason. "Burglary has been highlighted by every community panel at Chiswick as local residents' top priority for the police, and as such, I would agree with the officers who attended that calling the helicopter out was the right thing to do." After consultation with representatives from the Crown Prosecution Service, charges of burglary have been laid against all three. Lewis Kinnear, 18, of Foxglove Street W12 and two youths who cannot be named for legal reasons have all been remanded on bail to appear at Feltham Magistrates Court on 26th March. March 18, 2010 |
