These figures show crime rates for the three years since Safer Neighbourhoods Teams (SNTs) came to Chiswick. Overall they are encouraging and show that SNTs have made a difference locally.
There are clearly challenges in relation to domestic burglary and cycle theft, but we will continue working to make local resident homes and property safer. In real terms there were over 400 less victims of crime in Chiswick this year than in 06/07, 93 of which would have been victims of personal robbery.
Crime reduction is only part of the work of the local Safer Neighbourhoods Teams. Progress has also been made with improved partnership working, far greater involvement in local schools and we have been proactive in meeting local residents with monthly surgeries on each ward as well as the regular on-line ChiswickW4.com forum.
