Turnham Green Terrace Crime Hot Spot "Of great concern" to local Police
The owner of Turnham Green Cafe has become the latest victim in a spate of thefts occuring on Turnham Green Terrace and around the tube station. This particular incident occured on Saturday 4th August at 20.30 as the 54 year Asian cafe proprietor was standing outside the cafe using his mobile phone. As a group of youths rode past him in the direction of Acton, one of the group made a grab for his mobile and knocked the phone from his hand. Whilst in this instance the victim was able to recover his phone undamaged, Chiswick Police have said that this is just one of a number of thefts, including bike theft, which have occurred in the area and outside Turnham Green Tube Station. The suspects in this case were white and black teenage male youths on bikes. DI Minns said “This spate of thefts in and around Turnham Green Tube Station is of great concern to us. Whilst no serious injuries have been caused so far, only time will tell how long it is before someone is seriously hurt.
