Late night shoppers in Marks and Spencers on the High Road were confronted by armed robbers last Friday.

Two men in white hooded overalls and surgical masks armed with guns and knives robbed the store at about 8pm. They threatened staff with a shotgun, demanding that they hand over the till takings.

The men fled from the back of the store towards Chiswick Common Road where a white van was waiting as a getaway vehicle. Officers from Ealing Borough gave chase. The suspects eventually tried to escape on foot after the vehicle was in collision with two other vehicles.
Three men were arrested and the stolen cash and firearms were recovered.

There are also reports of a serious assault on a youth outside Marks and Spencers the next day.
