A traffic warden was assaulted by an angry driver after issuing him a ticket for being illegally parked.

The incident happened in Turnham Green Terrace at 3.50pm on Saturday afternoon. 

The driver of a white Citroen panel van saw red when he returned to his vehicle, parked outside William Hill, to see the warden issuing him a ticket.

After a short altercation, the driver punched the warden in the face, jumped into his van and made off in the direction of Turnham Green Tube station.

The driver, described as a white male in his 30's, is being sought by Police.
