Police in Chiswick say they have arrested a man this Thursday (21 December) on suspicion of carrying a knife and drug dealing as well as an assault on a police officer.

A combination of plain clothes and uniformed officers were on patrol near the junction of Hogarth Lane and Eastbury Grove close by the Hogarth Roundabout.

The suspect was found with 100 wraps of cocaine and heroin, sufficient for a charge of intent to supply.

A few days previously there were reports of a large number of people being escorted from the former Tesla showroom on the north side of the roundabout.

In September police are believed to have raided a house on Eastbury Grove and charged a man with possession with intent to supply.

After an increased number of reports about drug dealing on the street from local residents and the recent deaths of two women in Chiswick who were believed to be habitual drug users, police say they have been gathering evidence methodically as well as employing ‘fast-time investigations’ by Response Officers.

They have also stepped up foot patrols in areas where drug dealing has been reported to them.
