There will be another chance for residents of Chiswick to raise any concerns they have about crime in the area at a public meeting being held at the Town Hall.

Taking place at 7pm on Tuesday 4 October, this is the third in a series organised by Chiswick Gunnersbury Councillor Ranjit Gill and will be attended by the Borough Commander and the local police team.

Open to all residents, the police forum will give locals the chance to engage with their local police team about the issues that matter to them.

Local Chiswick Conservative councillors will also be in attendance to raise local concerns that residents have raised with them and facilitate discussion. Residents will have the chance to ask questions during the evening but are also encouraged to submit questions in advance by email to ranjit.gill@hounslow.gov.uk

“After two previous successful and well-attended meetings, I’m delighted to be able to invite residents to the latest Chiswick police forum on the 4th October at 7pm,” said Ranjit Gill, Conservative Councillor for Chiswick Gunnersbury. “It is crucial that residents feel able to express worries about crime to local police officers, and meetings like this will ensure our local police team and Borough Commander get a better understanding of the issues that need to be addressed in our local area. I look forward to a productive meeting.”

Issues that arose at the previous meetings include street lighting which remains at a reduced level on most roads although, after the first police meeting, organised after a spate of teenage muggings, lighting was improved on Chiswick Back Common with the aim of making the walk home safer and more comfortable. Since then, Chiswick has been a focus of theft from cars and theft of parcels from doorsteps. Drug dealing continues to be a concern. Cllr Gill hopes residents will raise whatever issues concern them.

The meeting is free to attend, and residents do not need to pre-register. The event will take place on Tuesday 4 October at 19:00 at Chiswick Town Hall (W4 4JN). Doors open at 6.30pm.
