Teenage Boy Stabbed During Fight on King Street

Police get extended stop and search powers after incident

A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after being stabbed on Tuesday afternoon (3 March) in the centre of Hammersmith.

Police say they were called to reports of a group of youths fighting on King Street at around 4.36pm.

A spokesperson for the Met said, "Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. A teenage boy was found with stab wounds and was taken to hospital.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.”

A cordon was placed around the scene near the local branch of Halifax.

There are unconfirmed reports that the victim was wearing a school uniform.

There have been no arrests at this stage but the police requested and were granted a section 60 order which gave them enhanced stop and search in the vicinity of the incident. This ran until 5am this Wednesday morning.

Similar powers were obtained the previous day for the Shepherd's Bush area after a boy was stabbed near Shepherd's Bush Market. The police are not giving any indication that the two crimes are related.
