Detectives leading the search for a missing man are conducting searches in and around the Hounslow area as the search grows for the 27-year Mohammad Shah Subhani (also known as Shah Khan). He has not been seen for over three weeks. One of the last known locations obtained from his mobile phone was Chiswick. His family fear he may have been kidnapped and taken to the Chiswick area on the night.

He has not been seen since he went to collect some money at a bank on Hounslow High Street at 12.30pm on 7 May and and the last signal on his mobile phone gave his location as being in Chiswick. The phone was switched off sometime on Tuesday night.

Officers, supported by specialist search dogs and the police helicopter, began searching an area in Hounslow on Friday, 31 May as part of the work to find Mohammed Shah Subhani.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, leads the investigation and said, 'We are focusing our efforts on this area as this is where Mohammed's phone was last located on the evening of Tuesday, 7 May - the day he disappeared.

'I would ask local residents in and around the Hounslow area to cast their minds back to that afternoon - did they see anything suspicious or out of context in their street? Did you witness any activity that made you think twice?

'I am also looking to trace Mohammed's car - a white Audi Q3. The registration is LC67 CXS, but this may have had the plates changed. Have you seen a car of this description parked in your road or in a car park near to where you live?

'I would reiterate that any information you may have, no matter how small, could prove vital to us in finding out what has happened to Mohammed. You'll see officers in the area over the coming days so please feel free to speak to them if you have any concerns or information.

'Mohammed has not been seen or heard from for over three weeks now and his family are beside themselves with worry. Please help end their anguish and contact police or Crimestoppers if you know anything.'

The family believe that the Heathrow Airport worker may have been kidnapped and taken to Chiswick. His brother told the MyLondon web site, "There has been a lot of kidnappings in the area recently and we think he could have been taken for ransom.

"He is a big lad, goes to the gym, and I think they may have put him into a car or something and in a struggle stabbed him. They then may have panicked and hid his body somewhere.'

His family says he is not a trouble maker and tells his mother where he is all the time so it is very out of character for him not to be in touch.

He is 5’7 tall with a scar on the back of his head and a beauty spot on his right eye.

Anyone with information about Mohammed's disappearance is asked to contact police on 0208 785 8099 or 101. To give information anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
