Three men held after shots were fired towards a house
Police have confirmed that three arrests have been made in connection with two shooting incidents that took place in Clovelly Road, Chiswick last month. Shots were fired towards a house in the road at around 3am on 3 December and again at 12.05am the following night. Nobody was reported to be injured. The three men held in connection are aged 18, 19 and 21. They have been arrested as part of this investigation by officers from Operation Trident and have all have been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in early January. Officers from the Southfield Safer Neighbourhoods Team have been visiting residents of the road to assure them of a prompt police response and positive action A man was arrested on Clovelly Road in April last year and charged with firearms offences as part of a series of co-ordinated raids involving 200 officers across London targetting violent crime. The raids were reportedly part of an operation targeting a notorious local gang MDP which stands either for 'Money, Drugs Power' or 'Murder Dem Pussies'. This is a west London based gang which police believe has over a hundred members and controls a significant amount of drug supply in the area. Over the past few years they have been linked to a number of shootings and stabbings. The police have not said that there is any link between this arrest and the shootings. Last month the local police team also recovered a moped with false number plates from the same road. January 4, 2019 |
