A Black Ranger Rover Evoque has been stolen at Rusthall Avenue, despite being securely locked, in an escalation of crimes of this type.

The OWL messaging system service has asked the public to watch out for any sightings of the vehicle, registration VRN EF66NWG, and says it is one of a number of incidents where cars have been targeted in the area in the past few days.

They believe that the cars may be stolen to order.

The Rusthall Avenue incident happened between 17:00 and 20:00, on Tuesday November 20th).

The police say the criminals usually scan the car keys which are kept inside the owners' property just by holding a specialised cloning scanner up to the house.

If by any chance you spotted the car Black Ranger Rover Evoke (VRN EF66NWG), or have it on CCTV, please call the police immediately giving location and the direction it’s traveling and quoting Crime Reference Number 2528339/18

Report and immediately any suspicious individuals by calling 999. Intelligence from CCTV showed criminals checking an area by driving very slowly at around 10-12 miles/hrs. Keep an eye!
