The latest official data is showing that there were no cases of Covd-19 in the Chiswick over the last week (12 -18 August).
This follows a previous warning from local public health officials that there was a cluster of infections in the area.
A statement was issued on Friday 14 August that there was a ‘large rise’ in the number of cases in the borough of Hounslow with Chiswick specifically mentioned as an place where there was a concentration of infections with the spike coming in the last two days of that week.
Numbers from the Office of National Statistics suggest that there were just three cases in Chiswick during the period.
Kelly O’Neill, Director of Public Health at Hounslow Council, said at the time, “The spread of cases suggests it’s due to wider family and friend groups meeting and not maintaining social distancing.”
In the month from July 8 to August 10, the borough has had 105 new cases of coronavirus the biggest rise of any London borough with the Heston area seeing the highest number.
In the most recent week of complete data, 8 August - 14 August, 811 cases were identified in London. This compares with 656 for the previous week. For England as a whole there were 6,780 cases compared to 5,508 for the previous week.
The latest publish figures on Covid-19 deaths show that 32 people died in the Chiswick area with just four since the end of April.
