A former teaching assistant at two of Chiswick’s primary schools has just published her latest novel, Sunny Side Up!

Milly Henderson has just turned sixty. While her friends mark retirement with the obligatory world cruise, Milly’s golden years look set to lose their sheen.

Her dream of putting her feet up and retiring to sunnier climes has been snatched away and she finds herself having to think about making a living, single-handed, for the first time in forty years.

Running a ‘B&B’ is the perfect answer. She can live where she works and work where she lives but never knowing who you are inviting into your house is a worry and along with the gift of a pet pig and resident ghost, Milly has to contend with a whole host of colourful and often unpredictable guests.

‘Sunny Side Up’ is the second book in the ‘Willow Cottage’ Trilogy. The first is ‘The Bed & Breakfast Queen’.

Clare says: "The novels are set in my mother’s sixteenth century house in West Sussex which she ran very successfully as a ’B&B’ for many years. I am currently working on the third book in the trilogy. Each book can be read on its own although it works well as a trilogy. '

Clare also works as a freelance journalist who writes regularly for women’s magazines. She started her career as an advertising copywriter and reporter on a local paper.

She is offering a free, signed copy of her book to the first registered member of ChiswickW4.com to get in touch. To claim your copy contact editor@chiswickw4.com and your details will be forwarded to her.

Sunny Side Up! can be purchased on Amazon Books and Kindle.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
