Proposals for Chiswick House and Gardens include the provision of a new, purpose built cafe; facility, positioned discreetly opposite the current cafe and benefiting from a southerly aspect.

Before plans are drawn up for the building, the Trust is seeking local input as potential users of the proposed new facility on what services and functions the community would like from the park's cafe.

This survey, commissioned by the Chiswick House and Gardens Trust, will be made available to a wide selection of residents and to other interested groups, and will help inform the design brief for the cafe.

A spokesperson for the Trust said "It is the Trust's desire to deliver a good quality park cafe; that retains the informal, friendly atmosphere of the present cafe;, whilst being capable of being flexible and multi-functional to cater to the needs of a wider section of community. It is also our desire to be able to generate increased income from out-of-hours events, such as birthday parties."

"Your answers will help inform us as to what is required by the local community and will help inform the choice of the Architects to be selected for tender, the type of building, and its uses. By helping us create a good brief, you'll get a top class facility that we will all be proud of."

A link to the online questionnaire can be found here.  Question topics include architectural style, what type of food and drinks would you like the Cafe to serve? and Do you think it is appropriate to have dogs in the Cafe?
