Precautionary measure taken due to prediction of high winds

Chiswick House and Gardens is closed today (Monday 23rd December) in anticipation of bad weather causing increased risk to visitors.

The Met Office has warned of a deep area of low pressure bringing very strong winds and heavy rain to much of the UK from Monday morning, through to late Tuesday morning. With the unpredictability of the storm there is the potential for widespread gales with damaging storm force gusts of 60 – 70 mph.

It will remain closed until 9am on Christmas Eve if a safety inspection at that point gives the all clear.
