With golf very much in the media spotlight this Autumn, Dukes Meadows have moved their annual charity golf day to September this year to capture some of the growing enthusiasm.

On Thursday 21st September 2006, Dukes Meadows Golf Club are inviting golfers of all standards to come and play nine holes with a few friends and enjoy a BBQ supper - all for £20.

Participation in the day can be from buying a raffle ticket; to joining in the challenge on the putting green; to sponsorship with client hospitality with all proceeds going to their nominated charities including Sparks (Sport Aiding Medical Research for Kids).

Since 1991, SPARKS has funded over 150 medical projects in the UK, committing over £11 million to tackle conditions as diverse as cerebral palsy, meningitis, the dangers of premature birth, spina bifida childhood arthritis and cancers.

Founded and supported by top personalities in sports and entertainment, the range of SPARKS fundraising activities is immense. Dedicated individuals, corporate partners and celebrities are united by a single common goal: raising the money that brings health, hope and happiness to the lives of babies and children and those who love them.

Martin Johnson CBE, England World Cup winning Rugby Captain said "More than anyone, sportsmen and women appreciate the blessing of good health and the ability to play the games they love. That's why we have a duty to help others grow up with the same opportunity in life. I'm honoured to be President of SPARKS."

For further details on the charity golf day please contact Dukes Meadows Gold Club's General Manager Scott Margetts on 020 8994 3314 or email scott@golflessons.co.uk.
