Not content with their silver screen success, Ant and Dec's new venture sees them set to conquer the US after signing up to host a new gameshow.

With their careers going from strength to strength, Chiswick's popular tv twosome have been asked by US network ABC to take part in a pilot episode of "Wanna Bet" in which members of the public wager that they can pull off bizarre or extraordinary stunts.

The show, which will also feature celebrity interviews and musical performances, could be turned into a series if the duo prove a hit with American audiences and could open further lucrative doors for them.

According to the entertainment industry's Variety magazine, ABC executives have been 'aggressively' courting them for some time. The show's executive producer Phil Gurin told Variety "They've got an instant chemistry that you can't manufacture. The British people watched them grow up on TV. These are two people who really like each other."

Gurin, who was also responsible for importing Anne Robinson to host the US version of The Weakest Link, said, "Less than 24 hours after I got on the phone with Ant and Dec, they said, 'We love it, this is the one'. They like the tone of the show and what it can be. I was pinching myself, I can't believe it."
