Confirms his intention to divorce wife of eleven years
Chiswick-based TV presenter Ant McPartlin has issued a statement saying that he plans to divorce his wife. The statement, which was sent to the Sun on Sunday newspapers reads, "In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin. "Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made."
The couple had known each other for 23 years having met each other as teenagers in Newcastle although Lisa was originally from Oxford. They married eleven years ago with Declan Donnelly acting as best man. Ant had recently returned to the TV screens presenting I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here after a spell in rehab. He had become dependent on painkillers and was suffering from depression following a knee operation. After leaving the clinic he did not return to the house in Chiswick in which he lived with Lisa but moved to rented accommodation nearby. January 15, 2018
