Chiswick-based TV presenters receive honours from Prince Charles
It was a case of 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Into the Palace' for Chiswick-based duo Ant and Dec who received their OBEs today from Prince Charles. The Geordie duo, who went up to receive their gongs under their names of Anthony Mc Partlin and Declan Donnelly, are no strangers to royalty, as they made a television documentary about the Prince's Trust last year and interviewed the Prince for the programme. The pair have had a hectic week, having picked up three prizes at the National Television Awards on Wednesday, including the TV presenter award for the 16th year in a row. When the news that they had been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours broke in June, they said they were shocked and honoured and hoped it inspired youngsters to follow their dreams as they did. The pair, who are both married, have lived in Chiswick for several years and are often spotted in their local pubs and shops and regularly attend community events such as the Chiswick Dog Show. Today the pair tweeted after the ceremony :" Well, what a day! Thanks for all your kind words" Clarence House tweeted "Congratulations @antanddec on receiving your OBEs from The Prince of Wales today!" The lads were accompanied at the ceremony by their wives and their mothers.
