BBC Radio Two presenter, and popular 'Strictly' contestant Jeremy Vine has thanked the people of Chiswick for their support during his time on the dance competition.

Father-of-two Jeremy, who is married to BBC newsreader Rachel Schofield, has lived in W4 for nearly ten years, and is a regular at community events.

Jeremy and his dance partner Karen Cliften hope to get through a crucial stage this Saturday which will then take them to the glamour of the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool on November 21st.

Jeremy spends about nine hours training, and his daily schedule includes a morning stint in the gym, followed by his 'day job' at Radio Two, then seven hours in Chiswick Park rehearsal studio, arriving home at around 10pm. He took time out from his morning training stint at the Hogarth gym to make this video, prompted by messages of support in local shop windows and by people coming up to him in the street to wish him well.

Though he admits he is not "the best dancer" (originally the bookies’ favourite to go out first) his enthusiasm has endeared him to the public. In answer to one critic on Twitter he said that he would tell his daughters that sticking with something and not giving up is a good message in life.

“The fact that I’m not the best is not a reason to give up, and that’s true of so much in life, just because you can’t win doesn’t mean you stop working.”
