Chiswick's Sophie Ellis-Bextor and London Grammar, whose lead singer Hannah Reid has local connections, are amongst the winners at the AIM Independent Music Awards.

Sophie Ellis Bextor, who lives in Chiswick with her husband and three children, won Best Live Act.

London Grammar won two of the four awards they'd been nominated for, including breakthrough of the year.

Singer Hannah Reid( pictured below)told the BBC it felt "really special", adding "it really has happened quite quickly, it's amazing."

The group have enjoyed success with their debut album If You Wait, winning an Ivor Novello Award earlier this year.

Hannah Reid has close family and friends living in Chiswick. She was educated at Notting Hill and Ealing school before going to university and starting her career in the music industry. The group recently performed at the Electric Picnic music festival in Ireland.

Arctic Monkeys won Album of the Year, and their record label Domino won Label of the Year.
