Daughter of retiring rock legend Phil is cast as Snow White

Lilly Collins is set to follow in her father's footstep after being cast as Snow White.

Lily will play the fairy tale princess in a Hollywood version of the classic Disney cartoon alongside Julia Roberts playing the Evil Queen.

22 year old Lily, who appeared alongside Sandra Bullock in the Oscar winning film The Blind Side, said her 60 year old rock star father was "a proud dad".

Phil Collins began acting during his time at Chiswick Grammar School (now Chiswick Community School) and in 1964 he won the role of the Artful Dodger in the West End production of “Oliver!”

The seven-time Grammy winner expressed his disillusionment with the future of the music industry last month when he announced his retirement. "I do not belong to this world and I think no one will miss me," he said. "I see the MTV music Awards and think, 'I cannot be in the same business, I do not belong here.'"

The new film called The Brothers Grimm: Snow White will also feature The Social Network's Armie Hammer, as the Prince.
