Chiswick Singer Brooke Burfitt-Dons (pictured right) has told teen magazine Look that the reason she was bullied became the secret to her success.

She says, "Being the new girl and dressing conservatively like I’d done in France made me vulnerable to bullies."

The 20 year old, who claims her front tooth was broken off by class mate Princess Beatrice, goes on to say, "I was also painfully shy, going red, stuttering and having giggling fits when anyone else spoke to me.

"I desperately wanted to fit in at school but instead became the focus of a hate campaign."

The twenty year old who is also Miss West London has said that she escaped her torment by locking herself in the bathroom for hours and singing.

"Being on stage allows me to be the daring person I want to be and it’s helped me finally overcome the mental damage the bullies inflicted."

The full story will appear in Look magazine on 7th December.
