Local youth charity CEDARS held an open evening on 9th July during which awards were presented to members for achievements and success during the year.

The categories were many and various covering a broad spectrum of activities at the club, improved personal behaviour and help to others.

Each recipient received a certificate and medal with the three winners of Jack Petchey Awards each receiving £200 to spend on something for the club and their own certificate.

To kick off the evening, two trustees from the Brentford and Chiswick Merged Charities, Andrew Dakers and Peter Williams presented a cheque to CEDARS for £6,000.

Thanking them, CEDARS trustee Jan Tellick said "This donation is fantastic as it will allow us to continue CEDARS programmes for young people into the autumn. We receive no public funding and are entirely reliant on donations to run CEDARS which is open to all young people aged 8 to 18, five nights a week. We welcome partners to work with us to provide materials, volunteers and of course financial support."
