Tony Ryan, praises students and staff for the record examination results
Chiswick School’s new head teacher, Tony Ryan, praised students and staff for the record examination results achieved this year and vowed to lead the school to achieve even more in the coming months. "I want to pay tribute to you the staff and to Alan Howson, the previous head, for securing three years of improving results," he said. Tony Ryan (pictured right), born and educated in Chiswick, is convinced the school has tremendous potential and is determined to make sure that all pupils reach their potential. "During my own education, pupils could be left behind and written off. This is not acceptable. I do not want students at Chiswick to leave having wasted their time. All should leave this school achieving their best’, he told staff at the first meeting of the year. ‘Together we can make this an outstanding school’. The school’s results reached a new high this year with over 60% of students achieving at least 5 GCSE A*to C passes including Maths and English. A level results improved too with the higher grades reaching 71% three percent up on last year. Two students achieved three A*grades each in Maths and Sciences and went to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge.
