Service introduced during Hammersmith Bridge closure now an express
Transport for London (TfL) has announced that it is to no longer serve bus stops in Chiswick on the 533 route. The service, which was introduced following the closure of Hammersmith Bridge, stopped in three locations along the A316 but now passengers travelling from these points will need to use the 190 route instead. The change, which will commence on 3 July, means the bus will run as an express service between Hammersmith Bridge Road and Mortlake Cemetery. TfL says this is to provide more capacity for passengers travelling to and from the south side of the River Thames The following bus stops will no longer be served: Towards Hammersmith: Stop J (named Thames Bank) on Clifford Avenue, stops P (named Hartington Road) and R (named Staveley Road) on Great Chertsey Road, stop S on Alexandra Avenue and stop T (named Hogarth Roundabout) on Burlington Lane. Towards Castlenau: Stop U (named Hogarth Roundabout) on Burlington Lane, stop Z on Alexandra Avenue, stops Y (named Staveley Road) and X (named Hartington Road) on Great Chertsey Road and stop R (named Thames Bank) on Clifford Avenue. There will be no change to the frequency of route 533 which will continue to run every 10 minutes during the AM and PM peak and every 12 minutes during the off peak on Monday to Fridays and every 15 minutes during the evening and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
