Buses and traffic rerouted as Thames Water work is carried out
Part of Sutton Court Road in Grove Park is closed and has diversions in place, due to work on a burst water main. Thames Water crews are currently on site. The area affected is a stretch close to the junction with Elmwood Road and the traffic lights on the A4. Thames Water said they hope to have the road reopened Monday. Thames Water said the burst pipe was reported this Wednesday (19 October). A statement said, "We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by the road closure. We’ve repaired the burst pipe and are now working on putting the road surface back to normal and reopening the road by Monday.” Traffic and the 272 and E3 heading northbound are being rerouted- drivers can go towards Staveley Road and Park Road and reach the A4 that way. Buses heading northbound are going via A216 to Hogarth roundabout then the A4 west and right onto Sutton Court road. The diversions are: Route E3 from Edensor Road, right Burlington Lane, left Hogarth Lane [A4], ahead Ellesmere Road [A4], right Sutton Court Road line of route. Last year a pipe burst along Sutton Court Road which caused significant damage to the road and pavement, close to where this work is currently taking place. Locals said this water main had been leaking for the past two weeks but Thames Water said the leak happened Wednesday. October 20, 2016 |
