Sangeeta Weatherley's contribution focuses on Strand on the Green

Chiswick-based Sangeeta Weatherley is one of six West London artists making a colourful contribution to Dawes Road in Fulham.
Together they have created a mural to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Hammersmith & Fulham Council commissioned the work as part of their Art on the High Street community program.
The artists were asked to each contribute a section of the mural, with Her Majesty and nature acting as inspiration.
Sangeeta regularly walks the Thames Path between Hammersmith and Richmond, decided to focus on her favourite stretch of the river – Strand on the Green.
She says, “My artwork for the mural captures the Thames tidal variation along with seasonal changes that I find particularly fascinating,” she said. “This piece serves as a representation of the movement of water and people. It includes the changing landscape encapsulated by the various flowers that grow along the banks, the corelation between the ever-changing sky and its effect on the water. I find sunsets over Strand-on-the-Green very magical and inspiring; the way light bounces off clouds, plays through trees on Oliver’s Island and along the banks.”
The Jubilee Mural will be on Dawes Road for one year and prints will be available to buy.
