A man riding an e-scooter on Chiswick High Road has been taken to hospital after being involved in a collision this Saturday morning (12 September).

He was hit by a car outside Marks and Spencer shortly before 9.25am.

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene and the rider of the scooter was taken to a central London hospital for treatment. His condition is described as not life threatening.

The driver of the car was not arrested and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

Hounslow Council are participating in a trial which makes the riding of e-scooters that have been hired legal on the borough's roads.

Last July, television presenter Emily Hartridge was involved in a fatal collision on an e-scooter in Battersea. This is believed to have been the first such fatality in the UK.
