High Road Closed After Fatal Incident

Taxi driver collapsed at wheel of cab and drove into railings outside Woolworths

Chiswick High Road was closed for more than a hour last night (Wednesday 17th October) following an incident outside Woolworths.

Police on patrol at 6.55pm discovered a black taxi which had hit the railings at low speed.

The driver had apparently suffered from a sudden illness whilst at the wheel and had collapsed as a result, no other vehicles were involved.

Emergency first aid was given at the scene but the despite every effort to revive the man he was later pronounced dead.

Next of kin have been informed.
