Car rolled on its side after collision in Wellesley Road

The driver of a car which flipped onto its side following a road traffic accident in Wellesley Road early today ( Dec 2) is being sought by police.

Police said the driver climbed out through a smashed windowscreen after the incident and ran off in the direction of Chiswick High Road. A police search was conducted but no arrest was made.

Police were called to the area at 2.30 a.m. today following reports of a collision between two vehicles. On arrival they found a Honda CRV on its side and an Audi A4 which had both been involved in an accident.

The driver of the Honda climbed out through the smashed windscreen and ran off. The other driver remained on the scene. London Ambulance and London Fire Brigade also attended. It is not thought that serious injuries were sustained during the accident.

The road was closed for a time to allow the vehicle to be moved.

Enquiries are continuing to locate the driver who ran off.
