High Road closed after HGV breaks down by Chiswick Roundabout

There were major traffic problems in Chiswick Wednesday (29th October) evening due to a HGV blocking a lane near Chiswick Roundabout.

Images from a Transport for London CCTV camera show a Tesco's delivery lorry stuck by the junction with the A406 (North Circular).

Chiswick High Road was closed eastbound by the roundabout and traffic tailed back to Hanger Lane up the A406. The lorry has now been moved and the High Road reopened later in the evening but traffic persisted for a few hours. The problem appears to have been exacerbated by another incident outside Gunnersbury station around the same time.

On the buses routes 237 267 391 440 H91 were subject to delays on Chiswick High Road.
