There were traffic delays on Chiswick High Road following a collision near Fisher's Lane today (April 23).

Police closed lanes off and buses were put on diversion following the incident which involved a BMW and a blue van shortly after 1 pm. The road was reopened shortly after 4 pm.

Police attended the scene and directed traffic away from the area. An ambulance was also called to attend to one man.

It is not believed there were any serious injuries sustained.

Locals in the area at the time said it appeared that the car was pulling out onto the High Road from the side street, between Gail's bread shop and Starbucks.

TfL said routes 272 and 440 are subject to diversion southbound only in Chiswick High Road W4 due to the road traffic collision.

Earlier in Chiswick, the Hogarth flyover was closed for several hours (April 23) following a road traffic accident. Traffic was heavy for some time as eastbound cars were diverted onto the Hogarth roundabout.

One report said that a minibus had burst a tyre while attempting to go on the flyover. It was reopened shortly after 3pm.

It is the second incident in a week at the Hogarth flyover, which is currently being strengthened by TfL and already subject to closures.

Last week a car flipped over at the entrance to the flyover and traffic had to be diverted for some hours until it was towed away.
