Heavy traffic due to tube strike 'delays emergency services'

The spate of collisions on Chiswick High Road has continued this time involving and estate car and a motorbike.

The incident occurred near the junction of Belmont Road and Chiswick High Road on Monday 4th October just before 4.00pm.

According to eye-witness reports a fire engine was able to get to the scene quickly but initially no ambulance was able to get to the incident.

It is thought that the heavy traffic caused by the tube strike had delayed their arrival.

Two passers-by tended to the injured motorcyclist whilst they waited for the ambulance.

The High Road was closed in both directions for a short time.
