Chiswick Rugby Club have been established in Chiswick since 1958, playing every Saturday at Dukes Meadows and has always catered for adults who wish to play but recent years saw increasing enquiries from younger age groups.

To cater for this, Mini rugby squads were established two years ago.

Now in the third season, numbers have grown steadily and Chiswick Minis is the fun place for children to learn about Rugby in Chiswick every Sunday throughout the rugby season. Boys and girls from 5 to 11 years old can learn to play the game at their large and very green ground at Chiswick RFC, beside the River Thames.

A spokesperson said; "We will shortly be increasing the upper age to 12 to 16 year olds. We are also delighted to be working in Partnership with Kit2kids. They are identifying children in the area who might not be otherwise able to come due to affordability and are helping with places at Minis. We have RFU trained, CRB checked coaches who stream the minis into age appropriate groups and take them through drills that bring on their skills. Communication, teamwork, exercise and fun all come together for the minis taking part. Older minis have regular fixtures against local clubs and parents have the opportunity to participate in the coaching."

Sessions are every Sunday at Chiswick Rugby Club, Dan Mason Drive, Dukes Meadows from 1030 till 12 and introductory lessons are £3 each. Parents can watch the whole session from the touch line and can assist if they wish For Enquiries, contact Kelvin Campbell on 07706 356422 or kelvin@shm-ltd.co.uk
