Local theatre announces it will remain closed until late April
The Chiswick Playhouse has announced that it has suspended its productions and theatrical activity due to the global health crisis with COVID-19, also known as coronavirus. The theatre, above the Tabard, closed yesterday saying; "Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s performance of “Al Murray: Landlord of Hope and Glory” has been CANCELLED In these uncertain times Al is choosing to err on the side of caution." The theatre has now decided to close for several weeks. A statement from Producer Wayne Glover-Stuart said : "We are taking the health and safety of our performers, staff, and audience seriously regarding COVID-19. "After many discussions, and following the latest news, we have decided to suspend all productions and theatre activity until April 24th. "We will continue to monitor the global situation and make a decision in the coming weeks if we need to further suspend or re-opening. "We wish to thank all our audience members for their understanding at this time. We look forward to seeing you safe and well very soon."
