Unwanted Bicycles Sought for Refugees |

The Bike Project is holding a pop up donation session in Chiswick this week
A one-off, pop-up bike donation session is being held in Chiswick this week and your old, unwanted or unloved bikes are sought. The Bike Project is a refugee charity with one simple mission: to take second-hand bikes, fix them up in a workshop and give them to refugees. This allows them to get safely and cheaply around London (most asylum seekers are prohibited from working and live on £5.75 per day). At the moment The Bike Project is also offering free online repairs and support to NHS workers. Outside of lockdown, The Bike Project has a successful system of collecting second-hand bikes from all around Greater London. However, like many other groups, it has had to find new ways to adapt, and providing one-off pop-up bike donation drop off locations has so far been very successful. So this is a call out for old, unloved and abandoned bikes needed for a one-off collection in Chiswick. If you’ve been using lockdown to clear out your garage or garden, use your daily exercise to bring a bike (in any condition), save it from languishing, and give to a good cause. Drop off Information: The bikes are due to be collected later that evening by van and taken to their Deptford workshop.
