A cappella, solo and ensemble vocal music at St Nick's
On Sunday 16 July at St Nicholas Church, at 7 pm, Chiswick Baroque, the locally-based five-voice a cappella group, will perform a summertime programme of a cappella, solo and ensemble vocal music. Tickets cost £7 or £5 for concessions and are free to Friends of St Nicholas Church. Doors open at 6.30pm; refreshments will be available.
This summertime ‘mixed bag’ programme of a cappella, solo and ensemble vocal music will include Monteverdi and Weelkes madrigals, well known folk-songs, sacred music, two commissioned settings of Yeats poems, and Spirituals – both old favourites and some new arrangements. Chiswick Baroque is a 5 voice a cappella singing
group directed by composer Celia Harper. Based in Chiswick, CB performs
vocal music from 11th - 21st centuries with a particular interest in 17th
century and tonal modern compositions, spirituals and traditional music.
