Martyn Bernard will put employees through their paces
Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work has announced that Olympic athlete Martyn Bernard has joined the team as sports and events coordinator, as part of its annual summer events programme which launched today (Thursday 5th June 2013). Martyn was part of Team GB in last year's Olympic Games as a high jump athlete. Montell Douglas the 100m British record-holder will also be involved on a weekly basis.
Martyn briefing some of the employees Martyn is set to put the employees on the Park through their paces, by developing a programme based on his training and experience as an Olympic high jump finalist and four times national champion. Enjoy-Work, the West London property management company, who recently won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, will work with Martyn to create a five month energising programme, which includes athletics, dodge ball, basketball, netball and football. He will also be supported every Wednesday by the 100m British record holder Montell Douglas.
Local residents are invited to come to the Park to meet Martyn and Montell over the summer at any one, or all of the following lunchtime (12pm-2pm) events on the Chiswick Park plaza: Friday 14 June: Chiswick in Bloom – a tribute to 100 years of the Chelsea Flower Show Friday 2 August: Yellow Umbrella Day beach festival and volley ball tournament (NB this will run 1700-2000) Friday 30 August: Taste of Summer food festival Martyn Bernard says “I’m delighted to be part of the Enjoy-Work team and I’m looking forward to making a real difference by helping workers and local residents to be more healthy and happy.
