Local builder recalls how website helped build a business

Gerry Grehan of AMG builders recalls when he first came to Chiswick as a plasterer from his native Ireland. It was in the middle of the last recession in the late 1980s and Gerry started AMG Plastering to forge a new career in London.

Since then his business has gone from strength to strength and as he launched his new fleet of vans in what is now AMG Building Solutions, he recalled that it was Chiswickw4.com that helped him forge his first customer base.

"I think I was one of the very first local businesses to advertise on ChiswickW4.com. We're very proud of our work and always happy to let people read the testimonials on the Chiswick website. It's because of that we decided to let people know of the website by painting the logo on our new vans. They're constantly driving around Chiswick, so nnobody can miss them".

Gerry puts his customer satisfaction down to the fact that he employs a team of specialists, from plumbers to gas engineers and carpenters, to carry out renovations and extensions in west London. They also have a workshop in Perivale to make handmade kitchens or bespoke items of furniture.

"We have experts in every trade, you're not getting one person who will do a bit of everything. We're like a family as a business and we take pride in what we do. We always offer would-be customers the opportunity to come and see our last job. There's no better reference than the customer you're with right now".
